Job summary

Coffee Works in Mareeba, QLD, Australia, is seeking two Head Baristas with a minimum of 2 years of high-volume specialty coffee experience to lead a busy shift. Two positions offer growth and competitive pay within a thriving Australian coffee region.

You will mentor staff, calibrate grinders and espresso machines, educate guests on coffee origins, maintain high hygiene standards, and promote Australian grown coffee, delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years hospitality experience with a cert 2 or 3 equivalent certificate preferred.
• Experience in high-volume coffee production (8-10 kg daily).
• Knowledge of ASCA standards and cup scoring required.
• Ability to lead and mentor a team.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving espresso and specialty beverages.
• Dialing in brew ratios and grind settings.
• Leading and mentoring a team of baristas and floor staff.
• Maintaining hygiene and food safety standards.
• Operating POS and handling transactions.
• Managing inventory and restocking.
