Job summary

Zurich Australia is seeking a hands‑on Lead Engineer to shape AI‑led insurance initiatives. You will design and build agentic systems from ground up, spanning experimentation to production, delivering scalable AI‑native solutions in a cloud environment.

You will set technical direction, uplift standards, and guide teams across engineering, product and design to deliver meaningful customer outcomes and business impact.

Qualifications

• Extensive software engineering, ML or data science experience in cloud-native environments.
• Proficient in Python and TypeScript with modern AI frameworks.
• Experience building AI agents, RAG pipelines, or agentic systems.
• Knowledge of AI evaluation, observability and optimization techniques.
• Experience with AWS and infrastructure as code.
• Strong DevSecOps, data engineering knowledge; agile, product-led delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of AI agents and agentic orchestration in production.
• Drive engineering excellence with DevSecOps and AIOps practices.
• Establish evaluation, monitoring, and observability frameworks.
• Build scalable components and contribute to shared frameworks and docs.
• Improve developer productivity with AI-powered tools and automation.
• Collaborate across teams to solve customer and business problems using AI-native methods.
