Job summary

Lead Group in Melbourne is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its General Insurance team. You will handle complex insurance litigation across property damage, coverage and indemnity disputes, with scope to manage your own matters alongside experienced partners.

This role offers hybrid working, direct exposure to major Australian and international insurers, and a clear path for professional development, including working on mass tort and large‑loss matters with robust learning

Qualifications

• 3+ years PAE with insurance litigation experience.
• Experience managing litigation matters through the Courts.
• Strong drafting, advisory and client management skills.
• Coverage and indemnity experience highly regarded.
• Property damage, recovery or liability experience advantageous.
• Associate and Senior Associate level candidates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex large‑loss property damage and subrogated recovery matters.
• Defence litigation for property damage liability.
• Advise on insurance policy coverage and indemnity disputes.
• Exposure to mass tort and class action matters.
• Manage matters end‑to‑end, including evidence, counsel, experts, mediations and Court proceedings.
• Direct engagement with major Australian and international insurers.

I’m partnering with a highly regarded national law firm looking to appoint an Associate or Senior Associate lawyer to its growing General Insurance team in Melbourne.

This is a strong opportunity for an insurance lawyer looking for sophisticated work across property damage, coverage and indemnity disputes, with the opportunity to manage your own matters while working alongside experienced insurance partners.
