Job summary

Lead Group is seeking an Associate for its National Insurance Litigation team in Australia. You will manage your own matters with direct client exposure, while developing under senior lawyers and Partners.

The role emphasizes autonomy in handling property damage, recoveries and related disputes. Ideal candidates have 2+ years’ post-admission experience in insurance or related disputes, strong drafting and client-focused skills, and a commercial mindset.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of post-admission experience
• Experience managing and progressing own matters
• Strong drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exposure to litigation and dispute resolution processes
• A commercial and client-focused approach
• Strong communication and organisational skills

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of property damage and recovery matters with autonomy
• Run insurance litigation matters from commencement through to resolution
• Draft pleadings, advices, submissions and correspondence
• Review evidence and advise on liability and quantum
• Prepare for and attend mediations, settlement conferences and court appearances
• Brief and instruct Counsel and experts
• Work directly with insurers, clients and key stakeholders
• Support and mentor junior lawyers and law clerks
• Contribute to client relationships and business development initiatives
