Job summary

Montgomery Advisory invites applications from lawyers with at least 2 years post-admission experience to join its Banking & Finance team in Sydney. The role offers exposure to high-caliber domestic and international financing transactions within a leading independent Australian practice.

Working closely with partners and a collaborative team, you will advise major lenders, borrowers and sponsors on leveraged, acquisition, project and real estate finance, as well as complex restructurings.

Qualifications

• 2+ years post-admission experience in Banking & Finance practice.
• Strong experience in banking and finance transactions across leveraged, acquisition, project, corporate or real estate finance.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and technical legal skills.
• A proactive approach and genuine interest in developing expertise across complex financing transactions.

Responsibilities

• Advise on complex domestic and international banking and finance transactions.
• Act for major lenders, borrowers, financial sponsors and corporate clients on a broad range of financing matters.
• Support clients on complex restructuring and refinancing matters.
• Manage transaction workstreams and coordinate with clients, counterparties and other advisers throughout the transaction lifecycle.

The Team

The Banking & Finance team advises major Australian and international financial institutions, investment banks, corporates and private equity funds on sophisticated financing transactions.

The practice covers leveraged and acquisition finance, corporate and project finance, real estate finance and complex restructuring matters.

The Role

About you

Ideally, you will have at least 2 years' post-admission experience gained within a well-regarded Banking & Finance practice.

Additionally, you will have:

• Strong experience in banking and finance transactions, ideally across leveraged, acquisition, project, corporate or real estate finance.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and technical legal skills.
• A sound understanding of financing structures and the broader banking and finance market.
• A proactive approach and a genuine interest in developing your expertise across complex financing transactions.
