Job summary

Morton Landscaping is seeking a Landscape Construction Apprentice to join our team in the Southern Highlands. This role offers a full-time apprenticeship across residential landscape construction, with opportunities to learn paving, timber work, drainage, planting and more.

We welcome new apprentices or existing 1st, 2nd or 3rd year apprentices who want broader experience and hands-on training. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous landscaping or construction experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Must have a strong work ethic and pride in workmanship.
• Willingness to listen and learn; hands-on problem solving.
• Enjoys practical, outdoor work and teamwork.
• Current driver's licence or reliable transport; White Card preferred or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist with paving and stonework on projects.
• Assist timber construction and retaining walls.
• Support installation of drainage and irrigation systems.
• Prepare soil and assist planting and turf installation.
• Read landscape plans and set-out construction details.
• Operate basic machinery and assist with site prep.
• Participate in universal site safety and housekeeping.
• Work across varied residential and rural landscape installations.
• Support team with general landscape construction tasks.

Morton Landscaping is looking for a Landscape Construction Apprentice to join our team in the Southern Highlands.

This position would suit someone looking to start an apprenticeship or an existing 1st, 2nd or 3rd year apprentice wanting broader experience across high-quality residential landscape construction.

We work on a wide variety of projects throughout the Southern Highlands, from detailed residential gardens through to larger rural properties and complete landscape installations.

The Role

You will work alongside experienced staff and develop practical skills across all areas of landscape construction, including:

• Paving and stonework
• Timber construction
• Retaining walls and landscape structures
• Steel edging and detailing
• Drainage and irrigation
• Soil preparation and planting
• Turf installation
• Excavation and machinery operation
• Site preparation and set-out
• Reading landscape plans and construction details
• General landscape construction

The work is varied and provides an opportunity to learn the complete landscape construction trade rather than being limited to one area.

About You

Previous landscaping or construction experience is beneficial but not essential.
