Zusammenfassung

Southern NSW Local Health District is opening a new Mothers and Babies Centre in Yass and is recruiting a Clinical Midwife Specialist Lactation Midwife. You will deliver woman-centred lactation care, exercise clinical autonomy, mentor staff, and contribute to BFHI-aligned policy development in a multidisciplinary maternity team.

Applicants must hold AHPRA midwifery registration with at least 3 years post-qualification experience and IBCLC certification (or be actively pursuing it).

Qualifikationen

• AHPRA midwifery registration with a minimum of 3 years full-time equivalent post-qualification experience.
• IBCLC certification or actively progressing toward certification with ongoing PD requirements.
• Clinical knowledge in midwifery care and lactation management within a multidisciplinary setting.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and risk management.
• Ability to deliver safe, high-quality care per policies and guidelines with accountability.
• Strong written and verbal communication with the multidisciplinary team and families.
• Ability to supervise, delegate and lead change to improve care delivery.
• Provide high-quality breastfeeding support while managing workload.

Aufgaben

• Provide lactation and breastfeeding care within a multidisciplinary team, with extended clinical autonomy.
• Deliver direct clinical care to maintain safe and effective service delivery.
• Act as advocate for women and families and mentor midwifery staff.
• Contribute to lactation service development by implementing and evaluating policies and BFHI guidelines.
