Job summary

Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service in Cairns Hospital is seeking a Clinical Midwife - Lactation Consultant to join the Maternity Unit.

You will provide expert breastfeeding support, lead lactation care for complex cases, and contribute to clinical governance and safety within the unit.

This role offers opportunity to influence care in a vibrant regional health service and support families through pregnancy, birth and postnatal care.

Responsibilities

• Support and provide direction to Registered Midwives and other staff in complex situations related to Breastfeeding and lactation concern
• Provide leadership to effectively plan, manage and evaluate patient care activities at an advanced practitioner level within the specified clinical setting.
• Assist the Midwifery Unit Manager to implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, work health and safety policies, procedures and programs and provide clinical governance in the relevant work area.
