Job summary

Western Downs Regional Council is seeking a Labourer to perform horticultural duties and operate a range of plant and equipment across parks, gardens and cemeteries. You will maintain park assets and contribute to timely task completion as part of the Parks and Open Space team.

The role requires a Certificate II in Horticulture (or equivalent experience) and a current Queensland C Class Licence (MR preferred or willing to obtain).

Qualifications

• Certificate II in Horticulture or equivalent related experience required.
• Current C Class Licence; MRLicence preferred or willing to obtain.
• OH&S Construction Safety Induction White Card preferred or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of horticultural plant and equipment in Council’s parks, gardens and cemeteries.
• Carry out maintenance to park assets as part of the Parks and Open Space team.
• Complete allocated tasks within agreed time frames.
• Perform other duties as directed.

The Opportunity

The Labourer is responsible for undertaking of a range of horticultural duties as directed including the maintenance of Council’s parks assets and the operation of horticultural plant and equipment.

The Key Responsibilities Include

• Operate of a range of horticultural plant and equipment in Councils parks, gardens and cemeteries;
• As part of the Parks and Open Space team, carry out maintenance to park assets;
• Complete allocated tasks consistently within agreed time frames; and
• Other duties as directed

About Yourself

A person in this position will need to hold a relevant Certificate II in Horticulture, OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience.

It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have:

• Current Queensland C Class Licence. “MR” licence (Preferred or willing to obtain).
• OH&S Construction Safety Induction White Card (Preferred or willing to obtain)
