Job summary

Evolve Scientific is seeking a Laboratory Technician for a major water infrastructure project based in Bundamba, Queensland. The role focuses on accurate laboratory testing, sampling and data management to help maintain water quality standards.

The initial 3–4 month casual contract offers four days per week with a view to transitioning to full-time for the right candidate, working with operations and engineering teams to monitor plant performance and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Chemistry, Laboratory Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Experience with laboratory testing, sample collection, and analytical techniques.
• Knowledge of quality systems and laboratory best practices.
• Experience within water, wastewater, environmental, or industrial laboratory environments is highly regarded.

About the Role

Join one of Queensland’s most significant water infrastructure projects and play a key role in ensuring water quality standards are maintained through accurate laboratory testing, sampling, and analysis.

We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to join a major water infrastructure operation based in Bundamba.

This is an initial 3–4-month casual opportunity, working 4 days per week, with the potential to transition into a full‑time position (4-5 days per week) for the right candidate.

As a Laboratory Technician, you'll be responsible for conducting water and wastewater sampling at various locations, laboratory testing, data management, and quality assurance activities. Working closely with operations and engineering teams, you'll help monitor plant performance, identify water quality issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

• Qualifications in Chemistry, Laboratory Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Current Driver's Licence and White Card.
• Experience with laboratory testing, sample collection, and analytical techniques.
• Knowledge of quality systems and laboratory best practices.
• Experience within water, wastewater, environmental, or industrial laboratory environments is highly regarded.
• Strong communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience using MS Office and LIMS software.
