Healius is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to lead the day-to-day operations of a satellite laboratory, ensuring high-quality, efficient and compliant diagnostic services. This on-site role will involve ownership of workflows, quality and performance across the team.

You will drive improvements, shape ways of working and collaborate with Pathologists and senior scientific staff, while mentoring staff and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Competenze

• Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Science (AIMS recognised).
• Experience as Medical Laboratory Scientist, ideally in a multi-disciplinary role.

Mansioni

• Lead laboratory operations to meet performance targets and service expectations.
• Manage resources including staffing, rostering and costs within budgets and KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation and quality standards (NATA, TGA and internal procedures).
• Oversee internal quality control and external quality assurance programs, driving continuous improvement.
• Lead, coach and develop team members, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
• Support with hiring, onboarding and ongoing capability development of laboratory staff.
• Oversee validation and implementation of testing methodologies with Pathologists and senior scientific staff.
• Maintain safe work practices and ensure compliance with WHS requirements; build effective relationships with partner facilities and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor, report on and improve laboratory performance, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency.
