Job summary

Healius is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to lead the day-to-day operations of a satellite laboratory in Sale. You will drive high standards of accuracy and efficiency, overseeing staff, workflows and quality systems to deliver diagnostic services.

You will manage resources, ensure regulatory compliance and coordinate with Pathologists to implement new testing methodologies while maintaining a safe work environment and strong stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Scientist or equivalent (AIMS recognised) is essential.
• Experience as Medical Laboratory Scientist, ideally in a multi-disciplinary role.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of a satellite laboratory with focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Manage staffing, rostering and operational costs within budgets and KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation and quality standards (NATA, TGA, internal procedures).
• Oversee internal quality control and external quality assurance programs; drive continuous improvement.
• Lead, coach and develop team members to foster a high-performing, collaborative environment.
• Support hiring, onboarding and capability development of laboratory staff; oversee validation of testing methodologies.
