James Cook University (JCU) invites a seasoned leader to head Laboratory and Technical Services across Education, Life and Environmental Sciences. You will provide strategic and operational direction, ensure safety, compliance and high-quality teaching laboratories, and optimise facilities and equipment across multiple campuses.

The role is based in Townsville or relocation before commencement, with HEWL 8 salary band of $111,960–$128,567 per annum plus up to 17% superannuation.

Formación

• Management experience in biological/earth/environmental science laboratories or related technical environments.
• Leadership experience across diverse teams and able to foster safety, accountability and high performance.
• Experience overseeing complex laboratory operations, equipment and learning activities.
• Strong knowledge of WHS, risk management, chemical and biological safety and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to coordinate resources across multiple disciplines and locations.

Responsabilidades

• Lead planning, prioritisation and delivery of laboratory and technical services across campuses.
• Drive safety, compliance and service quality in teaching labs and facilities.
• Develop staff capability and manage workload, performance and development.
• Provide high-level technical and operational advice on feasibility, safety and resource implications.
