Job summary

Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer in Sydney seeks a commercially-minded Knowledge Lawyer with 5+ years post-admission in class actions to lead AI-enabled workflows and knowledge resources. You will shape matter delivery, support BD activities, and partner with leaders across the firm to drive growth and efficiency.

You will collaborate with Partners, Learning & Development and BD to publish thought leadership, build client talks, and deliver training, while advancing the practice's data strategy

Qualifications

• A law degree and at least five years' post-admission experience in class actions or related disputes.
• Ability to build strategic business relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• High credibility to advise partners, legal staff and business services staff.
• Capable of autonomous, flexible collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
• Innovative mindset with interest in AI and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor market developments to identify opportunities with prospective and existing clients, including class action pitch opportunities.
• Manage the preparation of key materials for external business development activities, including client talks, podcasts and roundtables.
• Contribute to the Class Actions practice's AI and data strategy by helping to develop and implement AI-enabled workflows, products and knowledge resources.
• Collaborate with Partners, Business Development and Learning & Development to create and edit thought leadership articles, training and blogs.
• Support initiatives that leverage matter data and market intelligence to create value for clients and the practice.
• Act as subject matter expert for projects relying on practice group content or for knowledge-related projects within the team.
• Focus on increasing skills and commerciality around the team makeup/leverage, whilst working with pricing and resourcing managers to ensure the profitability of the work.
