Oakey Beef Exports, part of the NH Foods Group, seeks local candidates with knife skills to join our Knifehand team in Oakey. This full-time, permanent role offers a fast-paced, physically demanding environment and on-the-job training including a Certificate in Meat Processing.

We provide early starts and no night shifts, structured training, and opportunities to upskill with 50+ trimming roles. Prior butcher or knife sharpening experience is advantageous, but entry-level trainees are welcome.

Qualifications

• Knife skills and butchery experience preferred.
• Knifework and meat processing knowledge desired.
• Training available for entry-level applicants willing to learn.

Oakey Beef Exports, part of the NH Foods Group, is one of Australia's largest and longest operating beef processing plants! Offering stable, full-time employment and long-term career pathways here in Oakey, we are currently seeking local candidates with knife skills to join our Knifehand team!

Becoming a Knifehand at Oakey Beef Exports is an opportunity to upskill and create a long-term pathway, with over 50+ different trimming and Knifehand roles in one department alone. This Knifehand position offers:

• Full-time, permanent employment in Oakey


• Monday to Friday shifts, with five (5) Saturday's each year


• 5:30AM - 1:36PM working hours (+1hr OT when required)


• Full on the job training including a Certificate in Meat Processing

Working as a Knifehand is fast-paced and can be physically demanding. Having the motivation to learn will be an asset in your success. Previous experience using a knife will be extremely advantageous! Some areas of experience that would be beneficial include:

• Butcher experience


• Knife sharpening experience


• Meat/Seafood/Poultry processing experience

While we are currently seeking candidates with existing knife skills, we also offer entry-level roles where training can be provided for those will the motivation to learn!
