Job summary

Kennards Hire is seeking a Hire Controller to join the Major Projects division in Australia. You will coordinate equipment hire across a portfolio of major projects, ensuring accurate hire contracts and timely deliveries while supporting Project Managers and customers.

This fast-paced role requires strong customer service, excellent organization, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities. You will work with Kennards branches and internal teams to deliver a high-quality customer experience

Responsibilities

• Coordinate equipment hire across major projects with Kennards Hire branches and customers.
• Create and manage hire contracts ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information.
• Liaise to coordinate equipment availability, deliveries and project requirements.
• Maintain regular communication with customers and support Project Managers when needed.
• Raise purchase orders and convert approved quotes to equipment requirements.
• Keep Baseplan and systems updated with current project activity and actions.

• Coordinate equipment hire across some of Australia’s major project sites

Kennards Major Projects (KMP) supports some of Australia’s largest construction and infrastructure projects, working closely with our customers, Project Managers and branch network to keep projects moving.

We’re looking for a Hire Controller to join our KMP team and provide high-quality coordination and support across a portfolio of major projects.

About the role

This is a fast-paced role where no two days are quite the same. You’ll be coordinating hire requirements, working with multiple stakeholders and helping make sure our customers get the equipment and service they need, when they need it.

What you'll be doing:

• Working closely with our KMP Project Managers, customers and Kennards Hire branches, you’ll:
• Coordinate equipment hire requirements across a portfolio of major projects
• Create and manage hire contracts and ensure information is accurate and up to date
• Liaise with branches to coordinate equipment availability, deliveries and project requirements
• Maintain regular communication with customers and provide support when Project Managers are unavailable
• Raise purchase orders and provide administrative support to Project Managers
• Convert approved quotes and help coordinate equipment requirements
• Monitor project activity and follow up outstanding actions
• Maintain accurate information within Baseplan and other relevant systems
• Work closely with the wider KMP team to deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience
• Support our Quality Operations Management standards and safe ways of working

About you

You’re organised, proactive and comfortable managing plenty of moving parts at once. You enjoy solving problems, communicating with different people and making sure things get done.

You’ll bring:

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Confidence working with customers and internal stakeholders
• A practical, solutions-focused approach
• Strong computer and administration skills
• Experience within equipment hire, construction, projects or a similar operational environment will be highly regarded
