Job summary

Gympie RSL in Queensland is seeking an experienced Kitchenhand / Kitchen Assistant / Cook to join our busy kitchen team. You will assist with meal prep, cooking basic items, and presenting dishes during lunch and dinner service.

You will maintain food safety and hygiene, keep workstations clean and stocked, and support chefs during peak periods. A flexible roster, including nights and weekends, is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy commercial kitchen.
• Basic cooking skills and confidence with food preparation.
• Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.
• Knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
• Reliable and hardworking attitude.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team.
• Good communication and time-management skills.
• Flexible roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and cooking of meals.
• Cook basic menu items as required.
