Compass Group Australia is seeking a reliable Kitchenhand to join our Defence hospitality team at HMAS Penguin, Mosman. This part-time role supports chefs, handles basic food prep, cleans and maintains high hygiene standards in a busy kitchen.

You will work flexible hours, receive training, and contribute to a professional kitchen team with HACCP compliance and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Previous Kitchenhand, hospitality or food service experience preferred.
• Strong work ethic and reliable approach.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices preferred.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and Defence clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation and general kitchen duties.
• Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Support chefs and kitchen teams during meal service.
• Maintain clean and organised kitchen and back-of-house areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as required.
• Work collaboratively as part of a professional kitchen team.
