Job summary

Compass Group Defence Hospitality in Mosman is seeking a reliable Kitchenhand to join HMAS Penguin operations on a part-time basis. You will support chefs, handle basic prep, keep the kitchen clean and compliant with food safety standards.

Ideal candidates have prior kitchen/food service experience, a strong work ethic and are comfortable in a fast-paced environment. National Police Check and Defence clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen, hospitality or food service is preferred.
• Reliable with a strong work ethic.
• Able to work efficiently in a busy kitchen.
• Good communication and teamwork across shifts.
• Able to obtain National Police Check and Defence clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation and general kitchen duties.
• Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Support chefs during meal service.
• Maintain clean and organised kitchen and back-of-house areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as required.
• Work collaboratively as part of a professional kitchen team.

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchenhand to join our team at HMAS Penguin, Mosman. This part‑time opportunity is ideal for candidates who enjoy working in a busy kitchen, supporting chefs and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with basic food preparation and general kitchen duties

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices preferred
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and Defence clearance
