Job summary

Medirest is seeking a casual Kitchenhand at North Canberra Hospital in Bruce, ACT. The role runs Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with duties including dishwashing, cleaning, waste handling and assisting with food preparation.

Salary is $35.05 per hour including casual loading. Training is provided and you’ll be part of a team dedicated to caring for patients and staff within a hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen environment.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook.
• Flexible attitude with good communication skills.
• Police Check clearance, or willingness to obtain this.
• WWVP clearance, or willingness to obtain this.
• Serology report required before commencing at the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing, cleaning and sanitising.
• Assisting with food preparation.
• Waste handling and stock rotation.
• Follow all food safety procedures.
• Work as part of a team at North Canberra Hospital.

THE POSITION

• Varied hands-on duties:
• Dishwashing, cleaning, sanitising
• Waste handling, stock rotation
• Assisting with food preparation

THE PERSON

• Previous experience working within a kitchen environment
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook
• Flexible approach and attitude with good communication skills
• Police Check clearance, or you'll be willing to obtain this
• Working With Vulnerable People clearance, or you'll be willing to obtain this
• Serology report required before you can commence at the hospital
