Job summary

West HQ in Sydney, Australia, is seeking a reliable Kitchen Steward to support our busy Food & Beverage team. You will keep kitchens clean, organised and running smoothly, assisting chefs and maintaining hygiene standards.

This role requires availability across seven days with early mornings, evenings, and weekend shifts. Experience in a similar role and knowledge of cleaning chemicals are an advantage; Australian working rights are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward or similar role is desirable.
• Understanding of food hygiene and workplace safety requirements.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and Safety Data Sheets is an advantage.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• A positive attitude and willingness to support the kitchen team.
• Availability across seven days, including mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Full Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Operating wash-up areas and ensuring a constant supply of clean crockery, cutlery, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, benches and work areas.
• Sweeping and mopping floors and maintaining clean and safe kitchen areas.
• Removing rubbish and disposing of waste correctly.
• Assisting with opening and closing cleaning procedures.
• Ensuring cleaning chemicals and equipment are used and stored safely.
• Following food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Reporting hazards, damaged equipment or maintenance concerns to your manager.
• Supporting the wider kitchen team as required.
