Job summary

DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Northbridge is seeking a Steward to keep our kitchen and dining areas sparkling and well organized, delivering memorable guest experiences through spotless serviceware and efficient support for events. You will monitor stock, maintain cleanliness, train new team members, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Prior hotel or hospitality experience is preferred; Australian working rights are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of Australian Working rights (sponsorship not offered)
• 1 year of work experience in a 4/5-star hotel preferred
• Able to operate and maintain cleaning equipment
• Knowledge in HACCP preferred
• Willingness to learn and follow kitchen procedures and hygiene standards

Responsibilities

• Keep serviceware spotless by cleaning chinaware, silverware, and cooking utensils; scrub pots and pans; burnish silver
• Monitor stock levels to ensure supplies and equipment are well stocked and organized
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness through essential cleaning tasks (mopping, trash removal)
• Support events delivery by preparing and setting up clean serviceware for banquets and functions
• Train and mentor team members to strengthen performance
• Comply with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness regulations to ensure guest and team member well-being

Here’s what you'll do during a typical day:

• Keep serviceware spotless: Clean all chinaware, silverware, and cooking utensils, scrub pots and pans, and burnish silver
• Monitor stock levels: Ensure supplies and equipment are always well stocked and organized for seamless service
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness: Perform essential cleaning tasks, including mopping and trash removal
• Support events delivery: Prepare and set up clean serviceware for banquets and functions
• Train and mentor team members: Share your expertise with new stewards to help strengthen team performance
• Comply with regulatory standards: Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations, ensuring the highest standards of guest and team member well-being

In addition, this role requires the following minimum qualifications:

• Have a minimum of 6 months of full Australian Working rights (sponsorship is not offered)
• Physically based in the Perth Metropolitan Area or willing to relocate (no relocation allowance is offered)
• 1 year of work experience in a 4 / to 5-star hotel preferred
• Able to operate and maintain cleaning equipment
• Knowledge in HACCP preferred
• Willingness to learn and follow kitchen procedures and hygiene standards
