Job summary

Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury Valley, part of IHG, is seeking a reliable casual Kitchen Steward to help maintain exceptional kitchen standards and support our chefs. You will focus on cleanliness, hygiene and efficient operation in a busy hotel kitchen.

Ideal candidates are experienced in commercial kitchens, possess strong communication and teamwork, and have working rights in Australia. The role involves rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen environment; hotel experience is an advantage.
• Pride in maintaining a clean, hygienic kitchen.
• Well-presented with good communication skills.
• Team player with collaborative approach to work.
• Must have working rights in Australia.
• Passion for delivering great service.
• Willingness to learn and work in a wider hotel team.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sterilise countertops, walls, stoves, ovens, grills, sinks and cooking equipment.
• Maintain food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators.
• Receive and organise deliveries to the kitchen.
• Support chefs and kitchen staff in basic food preparation, cutting, peeling, washing.
• Remove kitchen waste and wash dirty dishes.

Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury Valley is currently looking for a reliable and enthusiastic casual Kitchen Steward to help our chefs make every dish memorable by setting and maintaining exceptional standards in our kitchens.

Located in the Valley of The Hawkesbury River, just 45 minutes from Sydney and at the foothills of the Blue Mountains, Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury Valley is the ideal destination for a group getaway, romantic retreat, wedding or conference destination. Based on 8 hectares of landscaped gardens, our comfortable, contemporary rooms and suites, delicious dining options and the only Vela Spa & Bathhouse in Australia, provide our guests with a diverse destination experience. Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury Valley is where indulgent retreat meets urban convenience.

You’ll be an energetic and dedicated team player who is focused on maintaining kitchen cleanliness and hygiene as per the HACCP standard and looking to develop your kitchen skills.

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Cleaning and sterilising countertops, walls, stoves, ovens, grills, sinks and cooking equipment
• Maintaining food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators

• Supporting the chefs and other kitchen staff in basic food preparation, cutting, peeling, and washing
• Removing kitchen waste and washing dirty dishes

What we need from you:

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment - hotel experience is an advantage
• Take a real sense of pride in your ability to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen
• Well-presented and good communication skills

• Working Rights - you must have working rights in Australia
• Passion for delivering great service
