Job summary

Accor is seeking a Part-Time Kitchen Steward at Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill to keep the kitchen clean, safe and organised, supporting chefs and ensuring readiness for great guest experiences.

You will help with cleaning, dishwashing, waste management, and adherence to health and safety standards, while flexible rosters cover evenings, weekends and public holidays as needed.

• The ability to work independently while also being a great team player.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, as required.
• Previous experience in a kitchen stewarding, commercial cleaning or similar role will be highly regarded, but a great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, pans and work areas.
• Operating commercial dishwashing equipment and ensuring all items are cleaned to a high standard.
• Maintaining cleanliness across kitchen floors, storage areas and dishwashing stations.
• Supporting the kitchen team with the cleaning and organisation of equipment and supplies.
• Ensuring clean crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment are available when needed.
• Assisting with waste management and recycling in line with hotel procedures.
• Following food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Working closely with the kitchen team to keep service running smoothly, especially during busy periods.

Job Description

As our Kitchen Steward, you’ll play an important role in keeping our kitchen clean, safe and organised, helping our chefs focus on what they do best.

Your day-to-day will include:
