Job summary

SUPERMERCATO AUSTRALIA PTY LTD in Double Bay NSW is seeking a Hands-on Back of House Lead to run a busy kitchen, own daily food prep, and lead a small casual team alongside the Deli and Merchandising leads.

You will plan production, manage orders, stock, labour costs, and ensure food safety, cleanliness, and presentation across panini, salads, and prepared products. Daytime shifts only.

Super Mercato is a neighbourhood food market in Double Bay that's bringing together exceptional fresh produce, a premium deli, prepared food and everyday essentials. We're looking for a hands-on Back of House Lead who loves quality ingredients and takes pride in running an organised, productive kitchen.

You’ll own food preparation and lead a small casual team, working alongside our Deli and Merchandising leads to keep the store stocked, consistent and ready for service.

What you'll own

Daily preparation of panini, salads and other prepared products.

Prep lists, recipes, presentation and quality standards.

Ordering, stock rotation, waste control and food safety.

Your team’s rostering, training and day-to-day performance.

Kitchen organization, cleaning and practical processes.

Labour and ordering budgets, with head-office support.

What you'll bring

Strong hands-on experience in a commercial kitchen, café, deli or prepared-food operation.

Experience leading a small team and planning daily production.

Confidence managing orders, stock and labour costs.

High standards for cleanliness, consistency and presentation.

An organised, reliable approach and willingness to get stuck in alongside your team.

What's on offer

$85,000-$95,000 base salary + super.

Up to $10,000 annual performance bonus, assessed and paid quarterly against labour, ordering and prep-completion targets.

38 paid hours per week, daytime shifts and no nights.

Real ownership of your department, with support from fellow leads and head office.
