Job summary

The Kitchen Food Company in Riverwood, Sydney, seeks a capable Production Team Leader to oversee a small production team, ensuring smooth daily operations, quality, safety and timely shift targets.

You will support staff performance, training, and GMP compliance, maintain records, manage raw materials and inventory, troubleshoot issues, and help minimize downtime and waste while upholding a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Background in food manufacturing/preparation or large volume kitchen facility
• Understanding of GMP, HACCP and Food Safety practices
• Certificate II in Food Processing (or working towards this qualification) or equivalent (Desirable)

Responsibilities

• Daily supervision and direction of a small production team under the guidance of the Production Manager
• Be responsible for the daily team support and review of staff performance
• Coordinate on the job staff training and assessment
• Oversee and ensure adherence to standards in quality, safety and efficiencies across the assigned production lines to meet shift requirements
• Ensure team compliance to health and safety standards and reporting of all near misses and hazards
• Maintain food safety/production records ensuring their accurate completion
• Ensure organization of the work area and GMP standards
• Oversee production lines supply of raw materials/components
• Conduct physical inventory checks for stock verifications
• Trouble shoot production issues and escalations
• Contribute to minimizing food wastage in the production area

Reporting to the Production Manager the roles will each manage a team of food process operatives ensuring production runs to planned schedule and KPI's are met.

About the role

The Production Team Leader is responsible for overseeing daily operations of a small production team, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to quality and safety standards, and achievement of shift targets.
