Green Leaves Early Learning – Maida Vale WA is seeking a Kitchen Hand on a short-term contract to support the Centre Chef and prepare nutritious meals for children.

You will greet families, serve barista-style coffee, and help with culinary classes while upholding food safety standards. Availability to work 20–25 hours per week and be ready to cover the Chef’s early shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid Food Safety Certificate.
• Working with Children Check (WA) current.
• Child Protection training certificates current.
• HLTAID012 First Aid & CPR valid.
• National Police Clearance issued within last 6 months.
• Availability to work 20-25 hours per week.
• Willingness to cover Chef's role 6:30–14:30, Mon–Fri.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Centre Chef with nutritious meals and purees.
• Greet families and provide barista-made coffee.
• Provide culinary classes with Centre Chef and Educators.
• Maintain high food safety and a clean kitchen per standards.
• Support daily kitchen operations and time management.

• Use your extraordinary culinary skills to support the Centre Chef in preparing a wide variety of nutritious meals and purees, as well as working to dietary requirements for babies and children

• Provide thoughtful culinary classes alongside our Centre Chef and Educators

• Combine your amazing time management and communication skills to support the kitchen in running each day smoothly.

About You:

• Current Food Safety Certificate
• Current and State-relevant Working with Children's Check
• Current Child Protection and National Child Safety Training Certificates
• Current First Aid and CPR (HLTAID012)
• National Police Clearance obtained in the last 6 months
• Availability to work 20-25 hours per week
• The willingness to step up into the Chef’s role when they are absent from the Centre from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
