The Peninsula Kingswood Country Golf Club in Frankston, Victoria is seeking a casual Kitchen Hand to support our hospitality team. You will help chefs with prep, maintain hygiene standards, and keep the kitchen organized to ensure smooth service for members and guests.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking including washing, peeling and chopping.
• Assist chefs with food preparation and cooking tasks.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen and wash dishes and equipment.
• Store food items correctly and manage stock with food safety in mind.
• Receive deliveries and check stock levels to ensure adequate supplies.
• Follow health and safety regulations and food handling procedures.
• Support the team to meet service demands and operate kitchen equipment safely.

The Peninsula Kingswood Country Golf Club – Frankston VIC

Peninsula Kingswood Country Golf Club is seeking a Kitchen Hand to join our hospitality team on a casual basis. Based in Frankston VIC 3199, this is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic kitchen environment within a prestigious golf club. The role is fundamental to ensuring our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, supporting our chefs in delivering high-quality meals to our members and guests. As a Kitchen Hand, you will be instrumental in maintaining the standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety that our club is known for.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and other food items
• Assisting chefs with food preparation and cooking tasks as directed
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment
• Storing food items correctly and managing inventory in accordance with food safety standards
• Taking deliveries and checking stock levels to ensure adequate supplies
• Following all health and safety regulations and food handling procedures
• Assisting with general kitchen duties and supporting the team to meet service demands
• Operating kitchen equipment safely and responsibly

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential for enthusiastic candidates
• A strong understanding of food hygiene and food safety practices
• Physical fitness and the ability to work on your feet for extended periods
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• The ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced kitchen staff
• Reliability and punctuality, particularly important for casual shift work
• Any relevant qualifications in food handling or kitchen safety are advantageous
