Job summary

Chartwells is seeking a Catering Assistant to support our dining services in education. The role covers dishwashing, food and beverage prep, customer service, and till operation in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

Applicants should have customer service experience and basic food handling, with strong organisational skills and a friendly, reliable attitude. Coffee making is a bonus; Working with Children Check is required or obtainable.

The Position

• Washing dishes with a commercial dish washer
• Assist the kitchen to prepare and present food and beverages
• Provide friendly customer service
• Fast paced environment
• Operate the till to take orders and process transactions
• Collaborating effectively with the team to ensure smooth operations
• Adhering to hygiene standards and following proper food handling practices.

The Person

• Experience with customer service and basic food handling experience is desired
• Some experience with coffee making is advantageous
• Current Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain
• Have strong organisational skills
• Excels in high-pressure environments
• Thrives in collaborative, small-team settings
• Possesses hands on experience with POS systems
• Friendly, customer-oriented attitude
• Being flexible to handle diverse tasks, from food prep to cleaning based on the needs at that time.
