Job summary

Canterbury League Club is seeking a Kitchen Attendant to maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen while supporting a fast-paced hospitality operation. You will work closely with the Chef team and outlet staff to ensure smooth day-to-day service.

The ideal candidate has experience in high-volume kitchens, can multitask, works well independently or with a team, holds a Food Handlers Basic Certification, and is flexible to a 7-day roster including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in a high-volume kitchen environment.

• Enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.
• Food Handlers Basic Certification required.
• Able to commit to a 7-day rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen to Canterbury’s standards.
• Assist the Chef team with preparation and general kitchen duties.
• Ensure safe work practices with focus on WHS.
• Clean and maintain dishwashing facilities and equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of food safety and WHS standards.

The Opportunity

As a Kitchen Attendant, you will take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment while supporting a fast-paced hospitality operation. Working closely with outlet employees and the wider Kitchen Team, you will help ensure smooth day-to-day operations, meet deadlines, and consistently deliver on patron requirements. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a collaborative team environment while developing your skills and experience in hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining cleanliness within the kitchen in line with Canterbury’s standards of excellence.
• Assisting the Chef team with preparation and general kitchen duties.
• Ensuring safe work practices with a particular focus on Work, Health and Safety.
• Cleaning and maintaining dishwashing facilities and associated kitchen equipment.
• Demonstrate understanding of food safety and Work, Health and Safety standards.

About You

• Demonstrated experience working in a high-volume kitchen environment.
• Ability to multitask effectively, prioritise tasks, and remain productive whilst working in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Food Handlers Basic Certification.
• Flexibility to work a 7-day rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
