DELIVERY DRIVER/KITCHEN ASSISTANT – Permanent Part Time

62 hours per fortnight, 5 days per week

We have an exciting opportunity for a Delivery Driver and Kitchen Assistant role based at our Holland Park service. Start at 6:30 am and have the afternoon to yourself. No weekend, public holidays or night work required.

Meals on Wheels has operated successfully in the Aged Care Sector for over 70 years and now provides services to many others in our communities including NDIS participants. Within the Brisbane South Aged Care Planning Region, 11 Meals on Wheels Services have amalgamated to become Meals on Wheels Brisbane South.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed person who will work closely with our volunteers and clients. The ideal person must posses a current and valid open Class C (Car) Queensland Driver's Licence. This role delivers meals direct to clients as well as our other services. The role also works as Kitchen Assistant before and after deliveries as directed by the Head Chef.

The purpose of this position is to coordinate the provision of Meals on Wheels services to clients in accordance with the organisation's Policies and Procedures, Food Safety Standards and Regulations, through efficient processes and guidance of volunteers.

In this role you will be responsible for

• Delivering meals to clients or other services as set out on the meal delivery run sheet in a professional, polite and positive manner.
• Packing and cleaning of eskies.
• Preparation of ingredients, pot scrubbing, stock rotation, packing of eskies and other activities associated with the preparation and plating of meals.
• Maintaining adherence to Food Safety requirements.

About You

• Safe and responsible driver who obeys road rules, the law and drives to road conditions.
• Capable of manual handling such as lifting of eskies into vehicles.
• Demonstrated experience in planning, working and managing time with minimal supervision and under pressure, including the ability to discern priorities, plan ahead and coordinate with others to complete tasks.
• Be an enthusiastic and outcome focussed team player.

Successful applicant will need to have, or be willing to apply for, a NDIS Workers Screening Clearance and must not have a banning order or work restriction in either the NDIS or Aged Care Sectors. We may also seek a driving history report.
