Allpress Espresso Japan is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our café team on a 6-month fixed term contract. This hands-on role supports the team to deliver a simple, quality food offering that complements our coffee.

You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with the team and stepping in across kitchen duties as needed. Early mornings and weekends availability is required.

Qualifikationen

• Previous café or commercial kitchen experience.
• Confidence with food preparation and basic cooking.
• Strong food safety and hygiene standards.
• Fast, organised and reliable during busy service periods.
• Ability to follow recipes and presentation standards consistently.
• Team-focused and willing to jump across all kitchen duties.
• Availability for early mornings and weekends.
• Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) certification, or willingness to obtain.

Aufgaben

• Assist with food preparation for the day ahead.
• Wash dishes and maintain a clean, organised back-of-house area.
• Uphold food safety, cleanliness and quality standards throughout the day.
• Bake sweet treats and toast sandwiches.
• Plate dishes and run the pass during service.
• Support the front-of-house team on the floor or till when required.
• Help with stock organisation and general kitchen operations.
• Pitch in wherever needed to keep the café running smoothly.

About your new role

We're looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our café team on a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract. In this hands-on role, you'll work closely with the team to deliver a simple, quality food offering that perfectly complements our coffee.

This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in producing great food, and is happy to jump in wherever needed. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, work collaboratively with the team, and be confident working autonomously when required.

A day in the life

A typical day could look like:

• Arriving bright and early and enjoying a coffee with the team before service begins
• Assisting the Cafe Manager with food preparation for the day ahead
• Washing dishes and maintaining a clean, organised back-of-house area
• Ensuring food safety, cleanliness and quality standards are upheld throughout the day
• Baking sweet treats and toasting sandwiches
• Plating dishes and running the pass during service
• Supporting the front-of-house team on the floor or till when required
• Helping with stock organisation and general kitchen operations
• Pitching in wherever needed to keep the café running smoothly

You have a passion for great food, quality coffee and hospitality, and enjoy being part of a close-knit team where everyone contributes to delivering an exceptional customer experience.

• Current Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) certification
• Interest in coffee and hospitality
• Experience supporting menu development
