Job summary

Catholic Education - Diocese of Rockhampton invites applications for the Kindergarten Assistant role at St Joseph's Catholic Kindergarten, Biloela. These casual positions permit immediate commencement or can be negotiated with the successful applicant.

The role reports to the Kindergarten Director and involves working with children, families, and the Early Learning & Care Manager to support learning and development.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Certificate III in Children’s Services (ACECQA approved) is required.
• A Blue Card (WWC) and Suitability Notice is required.
• First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Training (ACECQA approved) is required.
• Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent (ACECQA approved) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with classroom activities, including lesson preparation and resource organisation.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, including those with additional needs.
• Monitor student progress and behaviour, provide feedback to teachers.
• Assist with administrative tasks, such as record-keeping and organising materials.

Your Role

Applications are now invited from qualified educators for the position of Kindergarten Assistant to support St Joseph's Catholic Kindergarten, Biloela. These are casual positions, for an immediate commencement or as negotiated with the successful applicant.

This position reports directly to the Kindergarten Director or person appointed to be responsible for the centre. Other key relationships include children, families and the Early Learning & Care Manager.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with classroom activities, including lesson preparation and resource organisation
• Providing one-on-one or small group support to students, including students with additional needs.
• Monitoring student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teachers
• Assisting with administrative tasks, such as record-keeping and organising educational materials.

Mandatory Requirements

• A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
• A minimum Cert III in Children’s Services (or working towards) or equivalent is required. A Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent ( ACECQA approved qualifications) is preferred.
• First Aid Certificate, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Training (ACECQA approved
• Completion of National Child Protection and Child Safety Training via Geccko platform:
• Foundation of Child Safety Training must be completed prior to commencement
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
