Job summary

AustCorp Executive in Sydney is seeking a junior software developer to build software that connects real-world systems, hardware, automation and technology environments. You’ll be supported to grow from fundamentals and learn a highly specialised tech stack.

Expect 1–3 years’ experience, strong Python and JavaScript/TypeScript skills, and exposure to Node.js, REST APIs, React or Svelte, HTML/CSS, Git and SQL. Hybrid work after 2 months with parking provided.

Qualifications

• Solid fundamentals in software development with a curiosity to learn.
• 1–3 years' commercial software experience or strong project work.
• Proficient in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript with exposure to Node.js.

What you'll actually work on

You’ll be developing software that connects different technologies and systems, including:

• Building applications using Python, JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• Developing with Node.js
• Building REST APIs and third-party integrations
• Developing user interfaces with React or Svelte
• Working with SQL and databases
• Using Git and modern development practices
• Troubleshooting software and system integration issues
• Working with hardware and technology systems where software meets the physical world
• Collaborating with engineers and technical specialists to solve problems

This is a role where you’ll be encouraged to understand the whole system, not just write code in isolation.

What we're looking for

We're not looking for someone who already knows everything.

We're looking for a developer with solid fundamentals who is curious, technically minded and keen to learn.

You’ll ideally bring:

• 1–3 years' commercial software development experience, or strong graduate-level/project experience
• Strong Python skills
• Strong JavaScript or TypeScript capability
• Exposure to Node.js
• Experience with REST APIs and integrations
• Experience with React or Svelte
• Understanding of HTML and CSS
• Git/version control experience
• Basic SQL and database knowledge
• Strong problem-solving skills
• A genuine interest in learning new technologies

The technology you can learn

You don't need an AV background.

Experience with any of these is a bonus:
