Job summary

Austcorp Executive in Melbourne’s Tullamarine area is seeking a Junior Software Developer to join a growing tech business where software connects with real-world systems, hardware, automation and technology environments. You’ll be supported to build on your existing development skills and learn a highly specialised technology stack along the way.

You’ll work on Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, REST APIs and third-party integrations, plus UI work with React or Svelte, SQL and Git.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years' commercial software development experience, or strong graduate-level/project experience.
• Strong Python skills.
• Strong JavaScript or TypeScript capability.
• Exposure to Node.js.
• Experience with REST APIs and integrations.
• Experience with React or Svelte.
• Understanding of HTML and CSS.
• Git/version control experience.
• Basic SQL and database knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• A genuine interest in learning new technologies.

What you'll actually work on

You’ll be developing software that connects different technologies and systems, including:

• Building applications using Python, JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• Developing with Node.js
• Building REST APIs and third-party integrations
• Developing user interfaces with React or Svelte
• Working with SQL and databases
• Using Git and modern development practices
• Troubleshooting software and system integration issues

This is a role where you'll be encouraged to understand the whole system, not just write code in isolation.

What we’re looking for

We're not looking for someone who already knows everything. We’re looking for a developer with solid fundamentals who is curious, technically minded and keen to learn.
