Job summary

St Hilda’s School on the Gold Coast invites applications for a Teacher Aide in the Junior School (Years 1 and 3). This fixed-term, part-time role supports teachers and creates a caring, inclusive learning environment within our Anglican, girls-only setting.

You will assist with classroom preparation, in-class support, supervision, and implementing individualised education plans under guidance, contributing to positive student outcomes and the school’s values-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to appointment)
• Certificate III in Education Support
• Previous experience working with primary-aged children, particularly in an educational setting
• High professional and ethical standards
• Genuine passion for educating and nurturing girls through their primary years.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class support to students, including those with additional learning needs
• Assist teachers with the preparation and organisation of learning materials and resources, including setting up of work areas
• Support small group and individual instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher
• Assist with the supervision of students during classroom activities, transitions, and outdoor breaks
• Support the implementation of individualised education plans and behaviour support plans
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation and safety of all teaching spaces including equipment and storage areas
• Promote an inclusive and respectful learning environment, encouraging student engagement and wellbeing
