Job summary

Rentnest Pty Ltd in Townsville is seeking a Junior Property Manager to support the Senior Property Manager with leasing, inspections and maintenance across the Townsville portfolio.

You will learn across every part of property management, using our digital systems and collaborating with a national team that backs you, with a clear path to grow toward a Property Manager role.

This hybrid role offers flexible hours and local travel, with car allowance or mileage reimbursement to support inspections.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in property management or related role.
• Familiar with tenancy regulations and landlord communications.
• Willingness to grow toward a full Property Manager role with training support.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Property Manager with tasks across the Townsville portfolio including leasing, open homes, inspections, maintenance and arrears.
• Coordinate maintenance requests with tenants and contractors and follow jobs to completion.
• Prepare inspection reports, condition reports and lease paperwork on time.
• Build relationships with tenants and contractors to ensure smooth operations.
• Keep managers updated on key property matters for landlord communications.
• Maintain compliance with Queensland tenancy legislation.
• Utilise digital systems, including owner portal and tenant app, to streamline work.

As Junior Property Manager, you'll work alongside our Senior Property Manager to keep the Townsville portfolio running smoothly. You'll get hands-on with the operational side of property management while our Sydney-based Relationship Managers handle all landlord communication. It's a role built for learning and growth. You'll build your skills across every part of property management, with the support of an experienced Senior Property Manager, smart tech and a national team that has your back.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Senior Property Manager with on-the-ground tasks across the Townsville portfolio, including leasing, open homes, routine and entry/exit inspections, maintenance and arrears
• Coordinate maintenance requests with tenants and contractors, and follow jobs through to completion
• Prepare inspection reports, condition reports and lease paperwork accurately and on time
• Build positive relationships with tenants and contractors to ensure smooth operations
• Keep the Senior Property Manager and Relationship Managers updated on key property matters so they can communicate with landlords
• Help maintain full compliance with Queensland tenancy legislation
• Use our digital systems, including an owner portal, tenant app, and direct payment workflows, to simplify your day

About you

• Queensland Real Estate Registration Certificate (Office of Fair Trading) would be highly regarded but not essential
• At least 1 year of experience in property management, real estate or a role requiring strong people skills and the ability to balance competing priorities under pressure
• Strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail
• Clear communicator who is eager to learn and thrives in a collaborative national model
• Tech-confident and adaptable
• Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle for local travel and inspections
• Willingness to grow toward a full Property Manager role, including obtaining additional registrations, with costs covered by Rentnest
