Job summary

Johns Lyng Group is seeking a proactive Project Coordinator to manage a portfolio of residential insurance repair and restoration projects across Brisbane from our Murarrie office. Job description

Operating from our Murarrie office, this role manages a portfolio of residential insurance repair and restoration projects across Brisbane. You will assess property damage, assist with scopes of work and cost estimates, coordinate subcontractors, oversee project timelines, budgets and documentation, and maintain clear communication with homeowners, loss adjusters and insurers from initial assessment through to completion.

Reporting to the General Manager and Operations Manager, this varied role combines project coordination with exposure to estimating and regular time in the field, including travel across the region to inspect works and monitor progress firsthand. It would suit someone who brings strong coordination and organisational skills, together with practical building, construction or trade knowledge, and is ready to develop their career in project supervision. You may be nearing completion of an apprenticeship, recently trade-qualified or bringing early-career experience in building, construction or project coordination.

With support from experienced leaders, structured training and established systems, you will build specialist insurance repair and project supervision knowledge while managing your own portfolio. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule subcontractors across a portfolio of concurrent insurance repair and restoration projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.
• Conduct regular site visits to review progress and workmanship, maintain contractor Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) records, support Work Health and Safety (WHS) compliance and promptly escalative safety concerns.
• Monitor project timelines and agreed repair timeframes across all active jobs, managing sequencing and escalating issues early to keep projects on track.
• Maintain proactive communication with homeowners, loss adjusters and insurers, responding to issues promptly and escalating complex matters when required.
• Assist with preparing and reviewing scopes of work and cost estimates as required, issue purchase orders and monitor project costs and margins, ensuring site works are approved before they commence.
• Attend weekly construction meetings and Work in Progress (WIP) reviews, ensuring all job files, photographs and documentation are kept up to date.

• Practical experience in building, construction or a relevant trade, with an understanding of how repair or construction works are completed
• Strong coordination and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Attention to detail and an interest in learning about scopes of work, cost estimates, project budgets and documentation
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with confidence working with homeowners, subcontractors and internal teams
• A practical and commercially aware mindset, competence in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn insurance repair processes and systems
