Job summary

Johns Lyng Group is seeking a Construction Supervisor to lead day-to-day on-site activities for residential and commercial restoration projects in NSW. You will coordinate trades, supervise subcontractors, monitor progress and ensure projects meet timelines, scope and quality standards.

Responsibilities include site inspections, enforcing safety rules, liaising with clients, insurers and loss adjusters, and maintaining thorough site documentation.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated supervisory skills with experience leading on-site teams and coordinating subcontractors.
• Proficiency in site supervision, including scheduling, resource allocation and day-to-day project coordination.
• Strong communication skills for working effectively with clients, insurers, trades and internal stakeholders.
• Experience in inspection activities, including quality checks, defect identification and compliance with building standards.
• Sound knowledge of construction safety practices, WHS requirements and risk management on active sites.
• Relevant trade qualification, building/construction certification or equivalent experience in the construction industry.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications and scopes of work, with solid problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Competence in basic project administration, including reporting, documentation and use of construction-related software.
• Current driver’s license and willingness to travel to multiple sites within the region as required.
• Experience in insurance building or restoration works is advantageous.

Role Description

The Construction Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubbo, NSW, responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction activities on residential and commercial restoration projects. This role coordinates site operations, including scheduling trades, managing subcontractors, monitoring work progress and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and to quality standards. The Construction Supervisor conducts regular site inspections, enforces construction safety requirements, and ensures compliance with building codes, company policies and client specifications. The role also involves liaising with clients, insurers, loss adjusters and internal stakeholders, providing clear communication on project status, variations and timelines. Additional responsibilities include maintaining site documentation, resolving on-site issues, supporting continuous improvement and representing Johns Lyng Group professionally on all projects.
