Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking an Assistant Project Accountant in Melbourne to support multiple projects. You will assist with budgets, forecasts, journals, and balance sheets, while gaining exposure to commercial project finance and stakeholder reporting.

The role targets an early-career accountant with solid fundamentals and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset. CA/CPA studies may commence; property/project experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years accounting experience in industry, services or practice.
• Bachelor degree in Accounting or related discipline.
• Strong grounding in debits, credits, journals, reconciliations, P&L and balance sheet.
• Academic record and learning agility demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project budgets and forecasts preparation.
• Support month-end and year-end processes, journals and reconciliations.
• Contribute to management reporting and project performance analysis.
• Monitor income/expenditure and investigate variances.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to provide financial insights.
