Job summary

Dayforce, a global HCM platform, is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Melbourne, Australia. The role focuses on accurate, timely payroll processing and strict adherence to company policies, employment law, taxation, and superannuation obligations.

You will handle data maintenance, reconciliations and respond to queries with confidentiality. You will collaborate with HR, Finance and stakeholders to ensure correct payments and robust payroll records, while supporting audits and system enhancements.

About the opportunity

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll while ensuring compliance with company policies, employment legislation, taxation requirements, and superannuation obligations.

This role manages payroll transactions, employee data maintenance, payroll reconciliations, and responds to payroll-related queries. The Payroll Specialist works closely with HR, Finance, and business stakeholders to ensure employees are paid correctly and that payroll records are maintained with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll matters clearly and professionally.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while meeting strict deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
