Job summary

Malabar Resources invites applications for an Assistant Surveyor/Survey Assistant to join our team at the Maxwell Underground Mine in the Hunter Valley. Reporting to the Registered Mining Surveyor, you will develop skills using GNSS, RPAS, Total Station Theodolite, Laser Scanners and modern processing software to support mine operations.

Qualifications

• A recent graduate, or in the process of completing, formal surveying qualifications through a tertiary institution.
• Willingness to learn how to use various technologies employed in the profession.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management
• Passionate about continuous improvement and technological advancement in mining
• Demonstrated commitment to safety
• Dedicated to grow and develop skills and attributes required for a Mine Surveyor
• The ability to pass an industry medical assessment, prior to commencement, is required.

Responsibilities

• Providing accurate survey support and data in accordance with statutory and company standards for the support of the mine’s operation.
• Maintaining survey standards in field and office environment.
• Conducting surveys utilising the latest GNSS, total station theodolites, terrestrial laser scanner and RPAS technology.
• Taking an active role in the daily running of the Survey Office
• Demonstrate a commitment to safety behaviours in the workplace.
