Job summary

Metro Mining Limited in Brisbane is seeking a Maximum Term Assistant Surveyor to support site surveying and mine planning during the operational period. You will help capture data and assist the Mine Surveyor with daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to maintain production targets and quality assurance.

The role requires experience in mining or civil surveying, familiarity with design and machine guidance, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in Mining Survey and/or Civil Surveying.
• Experience with mining operations, including design, machine guidance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Software skills highly regarded (Microsoft Office, Pix4D, PointStudio).
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a small, agile team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support survey of all mining areas and to record material movements weekly, daily and monthly.
• Support of mine surveyor for EOM data validation and point cloud surface processing
• Capture stripping and mined out surfaces from the mine progress in a timely manner.
• Carry out QAQC checks on Machine guidance to ensure current files are accurate and carry out upload of latest design surfaces to equipment in a timely manner.
• Support operations with survey control and QAQC where required to ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Peg out disturbance boundaries in operational areas to avoid clearing outside of authorised areas.

About the role

Metro Mining is looking for a Maximum Term - Assistant Surveyor who will be responsible for providing essential support for site surveying and mine planning activities during the operational period. The position will assist in the timely capture and processing of data to support the Mine Surveyor with daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, ensuring production targets are met and quality assurance is maintained for mining and grade control.

Roster is 15 days on and 13 days off, Day Shift only.
