Malabar Resources Ltd's Maxwell Underground Mine in the Hunter Valley is seeking a Weekend Undermanager to provide on-shift leadership across development and longwall operations near Muswellbrook, NSW. The role reports to the Operations Manager and supports delivery of the production plan while upholding safety commitments.

Job description

The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd has commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site, with production projected of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. With a long life, the underground mine targets high quality coal, with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking energetic and skilled Weekend Undermanager. This key role will provide on-shift leadership and support through in the Woodlands Hill seam overseeing development and longwall operation. You will be accountable for leading safety commitment, implementing the Safety Management System and enabling delivery of the production plan on shift. The position will report to the Operations Manager | Woodlands Hill and is based at the Maxwell site, 10 minutes from the township of Muswellbrook.

• Provide visible and proactive safety leadership to achieve zero harm.
• Lead operations on shift to achieve production and maintenance targets.
• Ensure compliance to the Safety Management System and WHS legislation.
• Drive underground standards to establish and maintain a world class longwall operation.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, the applicant will possess:

• NSW Undermanager Certificate of Competency and Practicing Certificate.
• Experience in shotfiring activities will be highly regarded.
• Demonstrated success in leadership roles.
• Practical experience in high productivity roadway development and longwall operations.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
