SMS Personnel is recruiting a Junior Mechanical Fitter in Pakenham for a world-leading textiles business. The role starts at 7am and is 38 hours per week, with training provided as part of an apprenticeship path.

You will work with Dornier machines, set up looms, perform maintenance, and handle light fabrication including cutting tools and basic welding. Forklift experience is preferred and a brand-new facility exists in a small team environment.

Qualifications

• LF Forklift licence is highly regarded
• Must have mechanical aptitude and will train
• Maintenance experience with high attention to detail
• Good communicator who can work in a small team
• OH&S compliant and safety-conscious

Responsabilités

• Dornier machine setup: programming and configuring looms for new design setups
• Maintenance and troubleshooting: monitor tension, repair and maintain looms to reduce downtime
• Moving materials with forklift
• Fabricating - using cutting machinery such as grinder, drills, etc
• Basic welding

We are looking for a Junior Mechanical Fitter who may be just out of their time or looking to finish their apprenticeship and who is looking to get a start with a world leading brand in textiles.
