Job description

Fleet Space is building the technology that will help humanity explore and connect the Earth, Moon, and Mars. Behind every satellite we launch, every seismic sensor we deploy, and every ExoSphere survey we run, there are people who need their laptops, accounts, and systems to simply work. As our Junior Technical Support, that is your job.

This is a hands on, first line support role based at our Adelaide headquarters where you will respond to onsite and remote requests from across the business, diagnose and fix hardware and software issues, manage the ticket queue in Jira, and handle account activations and deactivations without letting anything slip.

You will also keep Windows and Linux servers patched, maintain our ISMS records, and make sure Fleet's IT capability holds up to DISP standards and the ACSC Essential Eight.

This role would suit someone with approximately 1-2 years of experience in Level 1 IT support roles who has a broad exposure to software and hardware support, is personable and comfortable in a role where everyday is different.

What you'll do
  • Provide onsite and remote technical support to Fleet staff by phone, email, or in person, responding within our standard SLA.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues across IT hardware and software.
  • Manage and prioritise open tickets, keeping everything properly documented in Jira.
  • Update Windows and Linux servers with security patches at least once per month.
  • Maintain ISMS records before any change is implemented.
  • Keep Fleet's IT capability compliant with DISP standards and ACSC Essential Eight guidelines.
  • Perform account activations and deactivations on time and without errors.
  • Create, update, and maintain IT and cybersecurity documentation, processes, and procedures.
  • Set up the procedures and processes the IT support function needs in preparation for scaling.
  • Collaborate with vendors as directed by your manager.
  • Perform out of hours and on call duties as required.
  • Drive process improvement, reporting, and standardisation across the function.
What we are looking for
  • A bachelor's degree and 1+ years in a relevant area such as Information Technology, relevant industry certifications, or proven work experience providing technical ICT support.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in IT support roles with varied responsibilities i.e. not siloed to one area of support in larger teams/companies.
  • Hands on with our stack: Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Jira, and Windows and Linux server administration.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and interest for the industry & emerging technologies i.e. using AI tools, side projects
  • Familiarity with teleconferencing, VoIP, email, and networking.
  • Ability to set up a standard operating environment for staff laptops.
  • Confidence diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues, comfortable with ambiguity and able to work independently.
  • A strong customer service mindset, with the ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels via phone, email, or face to face.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to self organise and prioritise a workload against multiple competing deadlines, for yourself and for others.
  • A high degree of confidentiality, discretion, diplomacy, and tact.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks such as the ACSC Essential Eight, or to supporting users across multiple countries and time zones.
About Fleet Space

Fleet Space Technologies' vision from the beginning was to build technologies to help humanity explore and connect the Earth, Moon, and Mars.

As part of Fleet's founding vision, we also apply our technology to innovative solutions for defense and space exploration, including an upcoming mission to the Moon.

Headquartered in Adelaide, South Australia, Fleet has a growing team in the USA, Canada, and beyond.

We have raised over $200M AUD in venture funding, backed by premier investors including Blackbird, TVG, Grok, and In-Q-Tel including our most recent $150M Series D in December 2024, at a valuation of over $800M.
