You will work with clients, consultants, and contractors, assisting with planning, design, procurement, and handover while progressively taking greater responsibility.

This role suits someone early in their project management career who enjoys collaboration and learning from experienced professionals.

Qualifications

  • 1–5 years' experience in construction, property or project management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with projects from briefing through design, procurement, construction and handover.
  • Coordinate consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain project programs, cost plans and variation registers.
  • Assist with procurement, tendering and appointments.
  • Review invoices, progress claims and variations.
  • Attend client, design and construction meetings and record minutes.
  • Support contract administration and project reporting.
  • Monitor timeframes and budgets; manage risks.
  • Conduct site inspections and help manage construction activities.

Junior / Intermediate Project Manager Canberra ACT | Full Time An exciting opportunity is available for a Junior to Intermediate Project Manager to join an established national project management consultancy in Canberra. Working across a diverse portfolio of property and construction projects, this business partners closely with clients throughout the full project lifecycle – from early planning and design through procurement, construction and completion. This is an excellent opportunity for someone in the early stages of their project management career who is looking to gain broader client-side exposure, work alongside experienced industry professionals and progressively take greater ownership of project delivery. Candidates currently working within client-side project management are encouraged to apply, along with those looking to transition from a head contractor, construction consultancy or project coordination environment. The Opportunity Working alongside experienced Project Managers, you will support the delivery of projects across various stages of the development and construction lifecycle. As your experience develops, you will be given increasing responsibility across project coordination, client communication, consultant management, procurement and contract administration. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with projects from initial briefing and planning through design, procurement, construction and handover
  • Coordinating consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders
  • Preparing and maintaining project programs, cost plans, variation registers and project documentation
  • Assisting with consultant and contractor procurement, tendering and appointments
  • Reviewing and processing invoices, progress claims and project variations
  • Attending client, design and construction meetings and preparing minutes and action registers
  • Supporting contract administration and project reporting
  • Monitoring project timeframes, budgets, risks and key deliverables
  • Undertaking site inspections and assisting with the management of construction activities
  • Developing strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders
  • Supporting senior Project Managers while progressively taking ownership of your own project responsibilities
About You

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about developing their career in client-side project management and enjoys working collaboratively across project teams.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Approximately 1–5 years' experience within construction, property or project management
  • A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Project Management, Property, Architecture, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience within a client-side consultancy, head contractor, project management consultancy or similar construction environment
  • Exposure to project coordination, contract administration or construction delivery
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Confidence communicating with consultants, contractors and clients
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Proficiency across Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • A proactive attitude and genuine willingness to learn
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment

Previous client-side experience will be highly regarded but is not essential. Candidates looking to transition from a head contractor, Contract Administrator, Project Coordinator or similar construction role are encouraged to apply.
