Job summary

Newmat Australia is seeking a recent graduate (or final-year student) in industrial design to join our design team. You'll work with senior designers and production staff on real projects, turning architects' briefs into buildable light boxes and ceiling solutions.

You'll develop designs from sketches to production drawings, model frames in Rhino and SolidWorks, and create layouts in Illustrator, collaborating with manufacturing to ensure what you draw is what gets made, with hands-on

Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial Design (or near completion).
• Proficiency with Illustrator, Rhino and SolidWorks.
• Good eye for detail and proportion; interest in fabrication.
• Team player who can take direction but speak up with ideas.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs from concept sketches to production-ready drawings.
• Model light box frames, profiles and assemblies in Rhino and SolidWorks.
• Produce layouts, presentation drawings and fabric artwork in Illustrator.
• Work through design details with manufacturing to ensure drawings are built as intended.
• Assist with prototyping, material sampling and testing.
