Job summary

Xero Lighting, an Australian manufacturer of architectural lighting, is seeking a Production Design Engineer to convert architectural designs into manufacturable lighting solutions. You will prepare detailed CAD drawings, BOMs and documentation, own projects from design through production release, and work with design, sales and manufacturing to optimise cost and quality.

You will bring at least 3 years of manufacturing or production design experience, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD LT, Creo), and a

• 3+ years in manufacturing, fabrication, or production design.
• Strong CAD skills in 2D/3D.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and specs.
• Experience with BOMs and manufacturing documents.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings to develop manufacturable lighting solutions.
• Create accurate 2D/3D CAD drawings and BOMs.
• Design custom components for projects.
• Own projects from design to production release.
• Identify design issues and production constraints early.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to resolve challenges.
• Identify cost-saving improvements in manufacturing.
