Job summary

Turn IT on is seeking a Junior ICT Consultant to support one of our schools in Dulwich. You will maintain IT hardware and services across school sites and help improve ICT provisions to enhance teaching and learning.

You will facilitate communication between the school and Turn IT on, manage customer accounts, install software, and provide user support. A background in Office365 and familiarity with school tech is desirable.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in ICT Technician or 2nd line support, preferably in education.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Able to explain technical issues in layman’s terms.
• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Resolve and manage technical issues impacting school IT operations.
• Install or repair computers with standard software and networking.
• Provide desktop support for devices: iPads, printers, projectors, audio-visual equipment.
• Maintain school hardware and services across sites.
• Liaise with school to keep them informed of services offered by Turn IT on.

You will be responsible for maintaining all IT hardware and services across the schools’ sites as well as helping the schools improve the standard of their ICT provisions and enable them to deliver effective teaching and learning through ICT solutions.

You will facilitate communication between your school and turn IT on keeping them up to date with what services turn IT on can offer and manage the accounts of your customers. You will be skilled in maintaining school computer equipment, installing new and existing software across the network, provide technical support for users and resolve identified technical problems. You will also have good knowledge of common user applications and good experience of using Microsoft Office365.

The ideal candidate will ideally have at least 2 years’ experience in working in a previous ICT Technician/2nd line support preferably in the education sector although not essential.

You will be passionate about IT with a strong technical background, be self-motivated and enjoy providing excellent customer service. This role requires you to be a team player, have strong communication and organisation skills along with a courteous manner with the ability to explain technical issues in layman’s terms to our customers.

You should be able to work independently and have an aptitude for problem solving and a proactive approach to identifying ways to improve services provided by your team.

Responsibilities Include

• Resolve and manage any technical issues that impacts the running of the school’s function by providing robust technical solutions
• Installation or repair of computers with standardised applications and networking software, diagnosing, and solving problems that develop in their operations.
• Respond to a wide range of technical duties associated with the computer network and desktop services, primarily in connection with existing installations and upgrading of these installations. (Desktop computers, iPads, printers, telephones, scanners, projectors, pa equipment, AV lecterns and hardware)

The role is offered on a full-time, full year basis and successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks.
